Big Things, Little Faith

“He told them, ‘Because you have so little faith. I can guarantee this truth: If your faith is the size of a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”’ Matthew 17:20

God is holding on to your dreams and passions for you. They are like a burning ball of flame and we can’t hold them ourselves. They’re too hot and too heavy for us. He reaches out to us and shows us how to achieve great things even if it seems like we can’t. It only takes a little faith to do the impossible.

So many days, my dreams feel far away or impossible. It seems so unlikely that I will be able to encourage or help anyone. Art just feels really hard and singing doesn’t come as easily. I’m never the first to be chosen so why would my creative dreams come true? Achieving your dreams, is a testament to God’s power and grace for us. We all have reasons for wanting to follow our dreams but sometimes they don’t happen right away.

In Matthew 17, the disciples are trying to be all smart and religious and drive out a demon. Everything they tried, didn’t work. This is because they weren’t trusting or having faith in Jesus to be able to accomplish this task. That is why Jesus says that a little bit of faith can do anything. We can only have so much faith as humans and sometimes we don’t have any. Those days when we feel extra challenged to follow our dreams are the days we need to be spending time with God and growing our faith. God is always with you but you must make sure that you are with Him, too.

There will be high and lows and mountains and valleys but you will survive and follow His heart for you. You can do anything.

Take a deep breath.

Ask God for help.

Return to your dream.

Big things are coming for you.
