Eyes Above: A Poem About Looking to God

Eyes Above
Heart on God
Filled with love
Although I’m flawed

Eyes above
All good vibes
In awe of Him
I reach for skies

Eyes above
I know my name
I’m recklessly loved
And not ashamed

Eyes above
I am His child
It might be tough
But I am wild

Explanation

I wrote this poem last night to describe what it’s like when we focus on God. Even when life gets hard, we can still find peace when we’re focused on God in knowing who we are and who He is. We know that no matter what happens our first response is to live as a child of God. So no matter what we do we will always be an amazing child of God instead of a kind of okay human. It’s time to live with our eyes above so we can truly go out and love (look that rhymed). If you’ve been struggling to focus on God, you aren’t alone. Check out this blog post to learn how to dwell in the Lord regardless of how busy, unmotivated, or confused you feel. Don’t let anything hold you back from being wild with freedom from Jesus!
